The proceeds from “MSC gaat overstag” go this year to the region in the Bahamas that was hit by hurricane Dorian, as well as to Theo and vzw Den Engel, two organizations closer to home who are both committed to offer guidance to young people with problems.

Several times a year we give our new colleagues the opportunity to take an introductory tour of the Port of Antwerp with a seasoned guide, during which they visit the most important locations in the Port. The MPET Terminal, Europe's largest container terminal, is an important stop during this tour.

In the 16th century, waterways were built across the Scheldt, which served as an additional mooring for the largest trading vessels of their time. Therefore, it made them an important part of the port of Antwerp and its trade economy.
